1998 saw the fantastic Bill Watrous amaze the Lakewood audience with his multiphonics and rapid doodle tongueing. He had incredible flexabilty and range. Bill told the newspapers that "the Lakewood Jazz Ensemble was a world class band and people like Wilbur Wittemann are keeping Jazz music alive!" I had no trouble finding trombone players to play Music Spectacular #10. They all wanted to be on stage with Bill Watrous....
